Privacy notice
Last updated 13 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information Greening Moto collects when you use this site, why, who else handles it and what your rights are. Greening Moto is run by Andy Greening, who is responsible for your information. If you have a question or a request, send it through the contact form.
What we collect
When you buy rides:
- your email address, so we can send your order link and answer questions about your order;
- the order itself: the rides, the price, an order code, the time of the order and whether it was paid;
- the country your order came from, worked out from your IP address when you check out. We keep the country only, not the IP address. A VPN or a network in another country can make it wrong;
- that you agreed to our terms of sale and asked for your rides straight away, and when;
- payment references from our payment provider (a checkout id and transaction code), so a payment can be matched to its order. We never see or store your card details.
When you use the contact form: your name, email address and message.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Why we use it
- To take your payment, deliver your downloads and email you the order link. This is needed to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep sales records, deal with refunds and questions, prevent misuse, and know which countries our buyers are in (which some tax rules depend on). These are our legitimate interests, and records may also be needed to meet legal obligations such as tax.
- To reply to your message when you contact us, which is our legitimate interest.
We never sell your information or use it for marketing.
Who else handles it
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) hosts the site and stores orders and messages, in its London region. Like any web host, its systems handle your IP address to serve pages and keep short-lived technical logs.
- SumUp processes payments. You pay on SumUp's own page, under SumUp's privacy notice.
- Migadu sends our order emails and carries messages from the contact form to us.
- Google reCAPTCHA checks that contact-form messages come from a person. It runs only on the contact page, under Google's privacy policy.
The country lookup happens on our own server, using a copy of MaxMind's GeoLite2 data, so your IP address is not sent anywhere for it. This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from maxmind.com.
What your browser keeps
The site saves a few things in your browser's local storage so it works as you expect: your basket, the details of a checkout in progress, the link to orders you have placed on this device, and an invitation code if you were given one. They stay on your device and are not cookies. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
How long we keep it
- Paid orders: 7 years from the order, with the email address, payment references, country and order email that go with them. These are our sales records, and tax law requires us to keep them (HMRC asks for 5 years after the deadline for the year's tax return).
- Orders that were never paid: 90 days, for a payment that failed, expired or was abandoned, in case you ask us about it.
- Contact-form messages: 12 months from when you sent them. Emails between us about an order are kept as long as the order; other emails for 12 months.
- Technical logs: 30 days, kept by Google, our host.
Orders and messages are deleted automatically once their period has passed. Our database backups, which let us recover from a mistake or a failure, may still hold a copy for up to 14 weeks after that; the backups are deleted automatically too. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time; we will, except for what the law requires us to keep, such as the sales record of a paid order.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. To do any of these, send us a message through the contact form. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
