About this ride
A short, easy half-day built around water: a run out to a quiet village beneath a big fell, a stretch of rolling lowland road, and the long eastern shore of a long lake. It is all two-lane A and B road, with nothing narrow and nothing steep to worry about.
The hard part is traffic, not tarmac. The two busiest tourist towns clog up in school holidays, so start early or ride midweek, and fill up before you leave as fuel is sparse in the middle. Spring and early autumn give the best light.
