About this ride
The ride is built around a single great climb: a long run across a broad valley to a steep escarpment, then sweeping bends low down and tighter switchbacks near the top of a high moor pass. After the descent, a quiet market town and a long, fast valley road keep the pace up.
Expect a single-lane, light-controlled river crossing early on, and treat the top of the pass with care in wind, cloud or ice. Fuel is scarce for a long stretch in the middle, so fill up first. Aim for May to September for the clearest weather.
