About this ride
Mid-Norfolk at its most unhurried: broad arable fields, small woods and a run of quiet villages under a wide sky. It is working countryside, little visited, and the loop deliberately keeps clear of the main roads that cut through it.
Almost all of it is narrow county lane, so the rhythm is a steady thirty to fifty miles an hour with frequent junctions rather than long straights. Concentration pays here. It is a good fit for a relaxed half-day, ideally in dry weather when the lane surfaces are at their best.
