About this ride
Out of the city and across quiet farmland to Breckland, England's sandy, pine-planted heart. Open heath gives way to the dark rows of Thetford Forest, where the road runs dead straight between trees, with wide verges and sudden shafts of light.
At nearly ninety miles this is a proper full day. The first stretch is leisurely lanes, the forest sections are fast and flowing, and the run home returns to relaxed village roads. Pack a lunch, allow for stops and choose a dry, settled day to enjoy the long, open sightlines.
