About this ride

Breckland and its river valleys around a high, handsome market town: sandy heath, pine belts, flat farmland and villages built from flint and chalk. Old ruins and lonely churches add history to the wide, quiet landscape.

Lanes make up much of the day, with one fast main road past the forest that is the quickest way across the Brecks. The rest is B roads, easy and unhurried. A good loop for a long, bright morning or early afternoon.
