About this ride
A long day that circles the whole of Snowdonia, taking in nearly everything the national park offers: reservoir shores and empty uplands, slate valleys, high mountain passes beneath the biggest peaks in Wales, a wooded gorge, and finally the long open sweep of the Cambrian coast and an estuary road back inland to the start.
It is built from good A-roads with a rhythm of long climbs, big descents and open sweepers, so the miles pass quickly but the day is long. It suits an experienced rider with a comfortable bike and a full tank, who is happy to be out from morning to early evening. Choose a clear weekday between late spring and early autumn to avoid the heaviest traffic in the busiest spots.
