About this ride
Southern Snowdonia in one loop, with a change of scene every ten minutes or so. A broad valley floor gives way to a modest mountain pass, a long narrow lake, and then the Cambrian coast, with the sea on one hand and the hills on the other before an estuary brings you back inland.
The roads are all A and B class and nothing is technical, though the lane by the lake is narrow, with occasional passing places. More than half the distance is a long, open coast road that settles into an easy rhythm and rewards a relaxed pace. It is a friendly choice for a first Welsh ride or a short outing, and it is at its best on a clear day from spring to early autumn.
