About this ride
A relaxed clockwise loop down the western edge of the moor, across a wooded river valley into the next county, and home along a quiet old trunk road. The roads are mostly open A roads with long, easy bends and a fine sense of leaving the high ground behind.
The crossing of the old river bridge is the one slow spot: it is a single lane, so wait your turn. The valley section has some narrower, tree-lined stretches. Fuel and food are available in the towns along the way. A good ride for spring blossom or an autumn afternoon.
