About this ride
The longest ride in the area, and the most varied. A valley road leads to a hill crossing past a large reservoir, a high pass takes you over an empty moor, and the final stretch runs along the coast towards home. The road character changes at every corner, so it never gets dull.
Allow a full day, even though the riding time is short, because there are places you will want to stop. A couple of the hill sections narrow to lane width, so watch for oncoming traffic on blind bends. Fuel is available in the towns on the loop but not on the high moor, so fill up early. Late spring and early autumn are the best.
