Alnwick Coast and Farmland Loop

A compact loop that wanders between the sea and the farmland behind it, mixing quiet B roads with a short, fast dual carriageway hop. The riding is relaxed rather than technical, with long views over flat coastal fields and a steady rhythm of gentle bends.

Nothing here is difficult, though the coast can be breezy and farm traffic slows the lanes now and then. It is short enough to fit around a long lunch, so fuel is rarely a worry. Go on a clear day between May and September, when the light off the sea is at its best.
