About this ride

A varied loop that follows three separate valleys, joined by open hill roads. The first half is a fast, wide main road with long sweeping stretches; the second is a quieter, twistier valley road that finishes over high ground and back down into town.

The quietest section has short stretches of single track and the odd cattle grid, so keep your speed sensible and watch for sheep. Fuel is thin in the middle, so top up before you set off. Late spring to early autumn is ideal, and the hills are at their best in early autumn.
