About this ride

A long circuit of broad A roads and smooth B roads that follows a river valley into the hills, crosses a deep natural hollow, then returns by a lake and a secluded valley. The riding is flowing and scenic, with long views and plenty of room to enjoy it.

Fuel is the main thing to plan: there is a very long gap on the way home, so fill up at the halfway town and do not skip it. A few short single-track stretches and cattle grids in the quiet valley also deserve care. May to September is best, when the hills are green and the roads dry.
