About this ride

A long, full-day circuit that heads inland through quiet farmland, swings round the edge of a broad range of rolling hills and comes home along the coast. Most of it is open and flowing, with wide views, good surfaces and a lot of easy A and B road cruising.

The hardest part is the hill-edge section, where some lanes narrow to single track with passing places and the odd gate or cattle grid. Take it steadily. There is a long gap between fuel stops on the second half, so fill up before the hills. Late spring to early autumn gives the longest days and driest roads.
