Rothbury River and Moor Loop

A compact loop that follows a gentle river valley before crossing open moor and returning through farmland. The roads are quiet and well surfaced, with a nice mix of bends and open views, and it is easy to ride at a relaxed pace.

Watch for sheep on the open ground and a few narrow stretches where passing needs care. It is short, so fuel is not a concern, though there is little on the way, so start with a full tank. Late summer, when the heather is in flower, is the best time to go.
